Joel S. Weissman, Ph.D., is Deputy Director and Chief Scientific Officer of the Center for Surgery and Public Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Associate Professor of Health Policy at Harvard Medical School.  His research focuses on the areas of quality and patient safety, the care of vulnerable populations, uncompensated care, drug policy, comparative effectiveness research policy, and organizational models for health care reform including accountable care organizations and medical homes
